“It’s an amazing and moving experience — to look at an almost empty piece of parchment and see it becoming a new Torah – one that will be read for years and generations into the future, that will continue the transmission of our heritage, our ethics, our culture down through history, just the way earlier generations have passed these letters, and words, and meanings down to us. We’re very proud to participate in this wonderful process of “paying it forward,” not just as Jews, but specifically to sustain HERJC as a vibrant congregation where this kind of growth and development exists.”
